Schero is a sculptor, photographer and graphic artist from Duisburg (AortA-Kultur e.V., Kunstakademie Düsseldorf). His oeuvre, spanning more than three decades, encompasses painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, one-of-a-kind artist's books and Land Art, created between Europe and Asia and carried by an international network. His journeys to India and Goa count among the formative chapters of his work.
The Great Themes
Recurring motifs run through the work and reappear in the series presented in this gallery:
- The Leaf: in the series Foglia, the form of the leaf becomes a poetic cipher for becoming, passing and remaining; the twenty-part group of works “Albero” carries it over to the tree.
- The Mandala: circular images of the world, of wholeness and of creation under threat, from the spiral “Oog” to the serigraphs of 1995: Mandala & World Images.
- Book and Script: the human being as “printed matter”, language as body: Book, Script & Sign.
- The Human Being in the World of Commodities: the consumer-critical shop window monotypes of 1984 and the principal figurative works such as “Werbefläche frei”.
- Music and Literature: homages to Fauré, Bulgakov, Böll and Tagore: Homages and the Poetic Landscapes.
- Space: Sculptures & Objects in bronze, wood and stone, from the gilded relief “Brot” to the “Zweikammergehirn”.
The Classic Groups of Works
Beyond these themes, the oeuvre as a whole is organised into eight coherent groups of works: Arena Geschichte – Arena Erinnerung, MANA Orte, Idealfiguren, Poesie des Raumes, Haut der Träume, Rhythmus/Farbe/Klang, Wand- & Mauerlungen and MANA Landart. These groups are currently being photographed and will gradually be added to the catalogue.

Whether etching, watercolour or stone sculpture: each motif tells of a place and an origin. It is precisely this story that distinguishes original art from interchangeable mass-produced goods, and it is this story that defines its value for collectors worldwide. All works come directly from the studio, with a signed certificate of authenticity and documented provenance.
